SED Rule Proposal

The New York State Education Department's has proposed a rule amendment to the Board of Regents that would allow individuals to continue to sit for the Uniform CPA Examination after 120 hours of education after Aug. 1, 2009. If the Regents do not adopt the rule amendment, CPA candidates who sit for the CPA exam after Aug. 1, 2009 will have to have earned 150 hours of pre-certification education. The proposal would also update and expand the curricular content for pre-certification education.
