In conjunction with the IASB, the FASB is hosting a webcast, “IN FOCUS: Understanding the Exposure Draft, Revenue from Contracts with Customers.” To register for this free event on Dec. 8, 10 to 11 a.m., EST, go to the FASB website.
FASB member Daryl Buck, IASB member Prabhakar Kalavacheria, FASB project manager Kenny Bement and IASB senior technical manager Glenn Brady will cover the key proposed changes to accounting for revenue recognition from contracts with customers, and the five steps that are fundamental to the proposed standard. They will also address how stakeholders can provide input on the joint proposal. Viewers will have the opportunity to email questions to the speakers during the event.
The exposure draft is open for comment until March 13, 2012.
Participants in the live broadcast will be eligible for up to one hour of CPE credit, but they must register individually—CPE credit is not available for group viewing of the live broadcast. An archive of the webcast will be available on the FASB website through March 6, 2012, but those who view only the archived webcast cannot get CPE credit.
