Between sessions at the Foundation for Accounting Education's Nov. 3 Auditing Conference, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board Chair James R. Doty sat down with The Trusted Professional for a quick five-question video Q&A.

We've split each question into a separate video clip and will post a new clip every day this week. Today, we have the fifth and final installment, in which Doty reflects on his first year as chair. We asked:

How can CPAs remind the public, their clients, and regulators that audits are still a valid, necessary and effective method of accountability following the financial crisis? Why is that important?
