Want a Raise? Become a Tax Accountant

Finally, 2009 -- a year of big losses, few raises and rampant unemployment -- is about to end, and the folks at CNN Money are already trying to predict the winners and losers of 2010.

Among the winners: tax accountants.

Salary increases anywhere are hard to come by these days, but some jobs will offer better bumps than others in the next 12 months. Using data from a staffing firm, CNN Money made a list. Tax accountants take the top slot, and compliance experts (often CPAs) are in position #2 because of new accounting rules and regulations. Senior financial analysts also make the list at #4.

It's looking to be a good year for those in the accounting profession.
